Chapter Synopsis
The chapter begins with a flashback showing Lloyd Frontera's wild spending spree, establishing his immense wealth and connection to Samarkand's blessing. He's then revealed to be a diplomatic envoy, a position he hates, orchestrated by the Queen who knows he'll cause a ruckus. Meanwhile, envoys from Magentano are treated disrespectfully, being given meager accommodations and told to use a "Padashire" (a supposed token of blessing) if they want better treatment. This leads to an indirect insult that might spark war. Finally, Lloyd ends up buying an inn for a homeless boy, which displays his material nature in a positive way.
